The basket comes with a fitted foam mattress pad that is safe for sleep, a basket liner, and a waterproof fitted sheet. The Ark Bassinet is more spacious than traditional Moses baskets and can be paired with loungers when you are supervising your baby.

Founded by Coretta Owusu—a lawyer, advocate, and entrepreneur working in the United States and West Africa—Design Dua shares the beauty of African design with the world by giving local artisans the opportunity to benefit from their art. Design Dua works with a cooperative of basket weavers in Ghana, establishing fixed pricing guidelines for all products (a 50% or higher increase over weavers’ previous profits); providing training, benefits, and access to materials for its artisans; and bringing awareness about fair compensation to local weavers outside of the cooperative.
Most importantly, all Design Dua baskets are safe for your baby. The baskets are tested in a United States CPSC-approved lab and meet all US safety requirements. All baskets are free of lead, pesticides, phthalates, and other heavy metals. Each basket comes with a fitted foam mattress, which is free of flame retardants.
Moses baskets are a wonderful way to keep a new little one close by. Design Dua’s baskets are sturdy and lightweight; however, they should never be used as carriers or placed on an elevated surface with a baby inside. These baskets are intended for use until a child weighs 15 pounds or is able to push up, roll over, or crawl. Baskets should not be used with any other pillow, mattresses, or accessories than the ones created by Design Dua, as these may increase the risk of SIDS.
